Online warfare.

In the London riots, social media was used to organise them. This has happened too in the recent Russian protests however it seems the Russian government has used cyber warfare to destroy any chat referring to the protests. They have done this to stem the momentum that is generating from online chat. Cases have been reported on twitter where users have been spammed. Is social media safe now?

Is artistic advertising dead? TBG Digital thinks so.

I recently watched a documentary on Facebook which a small part of the program was on advertising on Facebook. What was interesting was the companies involved in marketing those small ads we see on the side of Facebook. TBG is one of those companies and they advertise with a different perspective. They use computer experiments to work out what better images and copy would be more attractive to the target market. Using Facebook profile information they can distribute these technological ads to their target market.  Is this the begging in of scientific advertising ?

This latest story has really annoyed me because this week the ASA has banned an advert for Lynx shower gel, however this advert has been out for a good 3 months. I would suspect that the masses have become desensitised. Also when I was at V festival in the summer, Lynx was there with a giant shower full of girls selling the shower gel. Anyway here the ad , What do you think?

Best 2011 christmas ad so far i would say.....

Another television ad for this years christmas.

I would say this is the best so far because it is different fromt he rest. It focuses on giving gifts not the receiving of gifts and the hectic chaos of buying presents and use of money. Instead the child which is the main representation connotes honesty and quality which is what John Lewis is trying to sell themselves this Christmas.

Great Call of Duty Ad

Call of Duty franchise set for a new sales record !

Today Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is released with big potential to set a new world record for gaming sales. The gaming franchise's last release made £ 600 million with 20 million units sold in the first six weeks. However there has been big competition from other games like Skyrim and Battlefield 3 all wanting to be top dog for everyones christmas lists this year.
I feel games use just as much advertising and marketing as big hollywood films. The Demand is out there !
